Welcome to Stockholm
Summer is approaching in the north and so is this year’s ESVS Annual Meeting in Stockholm 23-25 September. The LOC, ESVS President, and ESVS Executive Committee are pleased to welcome you to what we believe will be an exceptional scientific meeting with a broad perspective encompassing
everything from basic science to current and future clinical management of our patients.
As you will discover the program contains feature symposia on peripheral vascular disease, renal artery disease, management of aortic disease, PAD in diabetes and a joint symposium with the SVS, together with numerous training sessions and workshops.
The meeting has attracted over 400 submitted abstracts, which were scored and selected for the six scientific sessions. These peer-reviewed papers are the centrepiece of our daily plenary sessions. We are sure sure that you will encounter exciting presentations in the scientific and poster sessions In addition to this content, we would like to highlight some new features at this year’s meeting. On Wednesday September 24th and Thursday September 25th, the Swedish Society for Vascular Surgery (SSVS) is hosting two breakfast sessions on strategies for the management of ruptured AAA and vascular
trauma, respectively. On Thursday September 25th, there is a dedicated venous day with a session hosted by the Scandinavian Venous Forum. Finally, a state-of-the art meeting for nurses and technicians will provide a mix of lectures and abstract presentations.
Jean-Baptiste Ricco, ESVS President
Ulf Hedin, Local Organising Committee Chairman
