EVST Academy representative – call for applications

The EVST representative for the Academy holds a 3-year term.  We are recruiting for an individual to begin a shadowing year in September 2021 (shadowing current EVST Academy representative Petar Zlatanovic) and to then sit for a 3-year term September 2022-2025.

The position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Represent the link between EVST and Academy, giving a voice to the young vascular surgeons.
  • Collaborate with the Academy to help develop and run educational activities both onsite and online. 2021 marks the beginning of the new Academy Pathways Project where sessions will be held throughout the year, and during the ESVS Annual Meeting.
  • Sit on both EVST Executive Committee and ESVS Academy Committee and therefore attend the related meetings during the term. EVST Executive Committee meets every year at the EVST Council Meeting, usually held in April and September. At times, the EVST Council may meet additionally at EVC in March.  The ESVS Academy Committee has a conference call every other week, and two meetings during the year: usually in March and September.  The representative may be asked to prepare slides and report on recent news or updates.

Any European EVST member who is a trainee at the time of application and election (not necessarily for the duration of their mandate).

To note:

Please note that the EVST Academy representative must cover their own costs to attend the annual Council meetings.  As a member of EVST ExCo, they receive complimentary registration to the Charing Cross congress.  As a member of the ESVS Academy Committee they receive free registration to attend the ESVS Annual Meeting.

Any costs incurred during the shadowing year are to be covered by the individual.
